FundRaise the Roof Standings

With a buzzer-beating ticket order, Lakes United Futbol Club won the FundRaise the Roof contest Saturday night with 457 tickets sold. Lakes United had led the contest from the outset, but a late charge by Blackhawks Soccer Club nearly wrested the grand prize away from the Forest Lake/Chisago Lake area club. Lakes United will supply ball kids, player escorts and teams for the halftime game for the Stars April 7 home opener at the Metrodome.

The Stars launched the FundRaise the Roof promotion in January as part of their efforts to promote their opening game against the Carolina RailHawks. The team offered participating clubs—whether they won the contest or not—$1 from every $5 ticket to the game they helped sell. The team will continue to sell fundraising tickets both online and by phone until the afternoon of Friday, April 6, and while the contest is over, the Stars will continue in their commitment to help make their home opener a valuable fundraiser for Twin Cities area youth clubs by donating $1 per ticket to the clubs that help them pack the Dome.
